Some children may require a more specialised and individualised programme to integrate the reflexes that remain active and are impacting on learning or emotional development. This is where Rhythmic Movement Training

(RMT) is important.


Reflex Integration, using RMT, is a natural movement based programme that helps improve the neurological foundations of sensory-motor development and the linking up of the brain, using gentle developmental movements every baby and infant should learn to make. The programme follows the natural stages of brain and sensory development through primitive and postural reflex integration. This programme supports people with mild to severe physical, emotional, social and behavioural challenges, literacy and numeracy difficulties, fine and ross motor needs, speech and language needs, DCD,ASD, OCD, ADHD(both types), Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and many more needs.


The movements need to be performed on the floor where neural development first begins. If the person cannot do the movements in an exact, rhythmical, smooth, symmetrical and effortless way, this can be a very clear indication reflexes are still active.


Some of the movements are performed isometrically which has a stronger and deeper effect, helping to release old compensatory habits that we have learned to help us get through but requires lots more effort and hard work. All have a powerful and positive effect and can improve development with outstanding results, helping children and adults to reach expected milestones quickly.

I work with private clients and within schools/nurseries offering Reflex Integration Therapy( RMT) service:


Initial consultation, assessment and programme :  £60*

Re-assessment session : £40*

* Plus Travel Costs if applicable

(travel 30+ miles)  : £10

How Reflex Integration Therapy using RMT techniques can help:


 By integrating any retained primitive or postural reflexes that are still active beyond the age where they should be integrated- the difficulties that a child/adult (see list) is experiencing can be alleviated and reduced.

A full assessment of needs is undertaken to identify any reflexes still active /retained.

  • Parents/carers will be involved in the assessment of the child and will be taught the movements of the programme which will then be done as many times per week as required. The exercises take no more than 10 minutes per day.

  • If the programmed exercises are to be done in school/nursery, then the named teaching assistant, with the permission of the parent/carer will  work on integrating the reflexes

  • Progress will be monitored closely to see positive changes. Individual growth programmes will be adjusted to suit presenting needs.

  • *School/nursery staff and private clients must agree not to generalise the therapy to support other pupils' needs ( official guidance of RMTi). Therapy programmes are specific and individualised
